Our Process

1. Site/Lot Assessment

What kind of dirt are we building on? Where is the perfect site location? Will it fulfill your wants and needs for a view, sun garden, pool, play area or outdoor living space? Together, we will look at the property to determine all of the possibilities.

During our initial meeting, we will collaborate on a project priority list, including time and budgetary goals and how we can help you obtain the best financing if needed.

3. Budget

Yes, we need to know what our numbers are. Matured relationships with reliable suppliers, vendors and sub-contractors in the Birmingham market will provide us with competitive pricing. We will provide you with a target budget number and work within those parameters.

5. Building

After proper permitting, with your precise set of plans, your well-detailed interior specifications, and your specified budget, we are set to build your new custom home or start your re-design/remodel and make a beautiful impression.

7. A Written Customer Walk-through Before Closing

As we near the end of construction, Murphy Home Builders will walk you through your project to prepare a “punch list” of small items or details that need to be addressed to complete your vision. The punch list serves as an inventory of last-minute touches to guarantee that our craftsmanship meets your every expectation.

2. Design Planning/Services

Based on initial discussions of your vision, we will draw a custom plan just for you. Kyle is very good at listening to our customer’s wants and needs and putting it on paper. We are also happy to work with a set of plans you may already have or work with your architect through the selection process assuring that your home will follow the dreams you already have.

4. Interior Selection Process

With your plans complete, we will assist you with your interior finish selections. We offer our clients flexibility and personal service. We have a New Home Consultant who will help in discussing essential requirements and your personal vision. You will be introduced to style and design that will meet your individual tastes and reflect the way you want to live. If you would like additional guidance, we work with several interior designers which we would be happy to refer you to.

6. Your Construction Schedule

As part of your Building Construction Agreement, you will receive a written construction schedule. This will be produced by the Project Managers within the first few weeks after the Permit is received. Not only will you see the progression of the construction, you will also be given a timeline for decisions and selections to be made. Our New Home Consultant and your Project Manager will assist to coordinate your decisions and selections. This results in Murphy Home Builders completing the project on time and ready for your occupancy.

8. Project Completion

At last, the big reveal: the “oh wow!” moment we’ve all been working toward.
After the completion of the project, a full one-year written warranty protects your home or your other construction project on all workmanship and materials unless otherwise covered by a manufacturer’s limited warranty.
